Drill Bit Accessories for Guyana
Jet nozzles from 7/32" to 32/32", bit breakers for 5 5/8"–26" bits, and a full set of makeup and breakout tools — the consumables and handling gear an offshore MRO supply chain needs to run, dress and maintain a Volga Burmash bit on the rig floor. VBM Guyana supplies them as registered MRO and drilling consumables in line with the Local Content Act 2021.
Product Categories
Three accessory families built to the same standards as the bits they support — from the carbide nozzles that drive your hydraulics to the breakers and tools that keep API connections sound, change after change.
Jet Nozzles (Oil & Gas)
Tungsten-carbide jet nozzles for oilfield tricone and PDC bits. The nozzle sets the velocity and direction of drilling fluid leaving the bit, so the right bore is what governs bottom-hole cleaning, cuttings transport and rate of penetration. We cut every standard IADC size in 1/32" steps, with custom bores to order, and inspect each nozzle for bore diameter, roundness and finish.
- Sizes 7/32" to 32/32", in 1/32" increments
- Material Erosion-resistant tungsten carbide
- Fits Standard API nozzle retention systems
- Tolerance ±0.1 mm on every bore
- Packed Singly or in matched sets of three
Bit Breakers
Heavy-duty breakers that seat in the rotary table and grip the bit while the string is turned to make up or break out the connection. The right breaker holds the bit firmly without marking the body, cones or cutting structure during handling. Each one is machined to a specific diameter and body profile from heat-treated alloy steel, with the bit size stamped on the body.
- Sizes 5 5/8" to 26", all standard API sizes
- Material AISI 4140 alloy steel, heat treated
- Fits 17 1/2", 20 1/2" & 27 1/2" table bowls
- Design Two-piece hinged for quick bit loading
- Marking Bit size permanently stamped on body
Makeup & Breakout Tools
Dedicated hand tools for bit handling, nozzle fitting and connection care — nozzle wrenches, installation tools, pin protectors, thread brushes and grease applicators. Using the proper tool protects pin and box threads through repeated makeups, avoiding the galling, washouts and downtime that follow from rough handling between the warehouse and the rig floor.
- Wrenches Nozzle wrenches for every bore size
- Protect Plastic pin protectors for transport
- Clean Brass brushes for API pin and box
- Grease Guns pre-loaded with API thread compound
- Reference Torque charts with each tool set
Why Proper Accessories Matter
The accessory is small next to the bit, but it decides how well that bit drills, how long it lasts and how safely it is run. Get nozzles, breakers and tooling right and every bit on the program performs to its potential.
HydraulicsOptimal hydraulic performance
Nozzle sizing is one of the highest-leverage choices in drilling optimization. The right configuration concentrates hydraulic horsepower at the bit face, lifting cuttings off bottom and pushing rate of penetration. We can run the nozzle calculation against your flow rate and bit so the bore set matches the well.
HandlingSafe bit handling
Bits are precision tools, easily marred by careless handling. The correct breaker and makeup tools keep threads from galling, the body from damage and the cutting structure from impact — and they keep rig crews out of harm's way during a bit change on a moving floor.
ConnectionsConnection integrity
API connections only hold pressure when made up to the right torque with proper thread compound. Our makeup tools and torque reference charts mean each bit goes on correctly, protecting the pressure integrity of the string and heading off washouts before they start.
Service LifeExtended equipment life
Good accessories pay for themselves by stretching the working life of costly bits and subs. Correctly bored nozzles resist premature erosion, matched breakers spare the body, and disciplined thread care lets a connection take many makeups before it degrades.
Jet Nozzle Reference
A quick look at common bore sizes across the 7/32" to 32/32" range. Specify the size in 32nds of an inch and the quantity per size when you order.
| Nozzle Size (1/32") | Bore (in) | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|
| 8/32 | 0.250 | Small-diameter and slim-hole bits, higher jet velocity |
| 11/32 | 0.344 | Intermediate sections balancing velocity and flow area |
| 14/32 | 0.438 | General-purpose oilfield drilling, mid-range hydraulics |
| 18/32 | 0.563 | Larger holes with high flow rates and heavy cuttings load |
| 24/32 | 0.750 | Big-bore surface and conductor sections, low pressure drop |
| 32/32 | 1.000 | Maximum flow area for the largest bits and open nozzling |
Consumables for Guyana's Offshore Supply Chain
An offshore drilling program lives or dies on the small parts. The crew needs the right nozzle bore in the rack before the bit goes in the hole, a breaker that matches every size on the program, and clean, greased threads each time a connection is made up. VBM Guyana supplies these as registered MRO and drilling consumables, positioned to support the Stabroek Block supply chain under the Local Content Act 2021 framework — so operators and tier-1 service companies can source nozzles, breakers and tooling locally rather than waiting on long import lead times.
Order accessories on their own or bundled with a bit purchase. We recommend stocking a full set of nozzles in your most-used bores together with a matching breaker for each bit size you run, so the right part is always at the rig when it is needed. The same standards that govern our tricone bits and the carbide grades behind our carbide products apply to every nozzle and tool — keeping your bits dressed, on bottom and drilling.
Let's spec the right bit for your project.
